What does water mean to you? Is water something you and your family take for granted? Are you grateful for water and want to learn how it impacts your health and the well being of Mother Earth? Come celebrate National Aboriginal Day and Summer Solstice, by attending For The Love of Water on Thursday June, 21 and Friday June 22. Presenters include internationally renowned Dr. Masaru Emoto, who will share his water crystal research and Ojibway Elder Peter Migwans, who will share his waterteachings art and much more.
“This is an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate our water that sustains life, our country’s aboriginal heritage, music, art and so much more,” said For The Love of Water Committee spokesperson Dale McKay, Owner of WindSpirit Wisdom & Wonders. It’s an honour to welcome such world renowned water experts as Dr. Masaru Emoto and Ojibway Elder Peter Migwans, she added.
Emoto’s presentation, titled “Honouring What the Ancients Knew,” will take place Thursday evening and be continued Friday evening. As a Doctor of Alternative Medicine, he has completed extensive water research throughout the world and has discovered that thoughts and words have a direct effect on water-crystal formation.
Using high-speed photography, he has captured how crystals formed in frozen water change when specific concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. Water exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex patterns, but water exposed to negative words forms incomplete asymmetrical patterns.
“Since our bodies are mostly water, our thoughts and words certainly affect not only ourselves but the world around us,” said Emoto. Negative emotions prevent the water from crystallizing and positive emotions allow it to develop in beautiful hexagonal shapes, added Emoto. Stunning water-crystal photos in Emoto’s many books have amazed millions of people throughout the world and he has gained worldwide acclaim through his groundbreaking research and discovery that water is deeply connected to each of us.
In the year 2003 The United Nations proclaimed 2005 to 2015 as International Water for Life Decade and they urge those throughout the world to take individual responsibility for learning all about water.
“We are also extremely grateful to have Elder Peter Migwans share his waterteachings art,” said McKay. Migwans was chosen Elder for Storytellers of Canada and shares his love of storytelling with each canvas he paints. “I used to say I’m not trying to change the world but now I’m saying I am trying to change the world, because of water. I want people of all nations to treat water with dignity and respect,” said Migwans.
Migwans’ water series art entitled, “Waterteachings” encourages all generations to treat water with respect. “Waterteachings sheds light on the importance of water, for all nations, for all ages, for our grandchildren, for the next 7 generations,” Migwans said. Artwork by Migwans has been displayed in The Royal Ontario Museum, The Ojibway Cultural Foundation, The Vatican, and in private collections throughout the world. His art will be on display at St. Paul’s United Church throughout the two-day event.
A special presentation by Triz Remedios, sacred sound healer, will include Peruvian whistling vessels, cross cultural teachings and sound healing. Tickets for this Friday morning event, 9:30a.m.to 11:30am, are available for $30.
For the Love of Water event will also offer many other activities for the entire family including a Lakes Couchiching and Simcoe water music ceremony, waterteachings art gallery, earth drum circle, strawberry teachings, book signings, and much more.
Many of the activities are free. Tickets for Dr. Emoto’s presentations are $30 each and are available at WindSpirit Wisdom & Wonders 33 Mississaga Street East, and Spotlight Office at 23 Peter St. S., Orillia. For the Love of Water speakers are hosted by The Stone Gate Inn.
